about us
How it all started...
Let’s Talk About Non-Binary is a collective created by and for non-binary people. It all started with a meeting between non-binary folks just before the COVID-19 crisis. The community that attended this meeting later created a Discord server so they could stay in contact during the lockdowns.
After the end of the lockdowns, there was another in-person meeting. Those who were present at the first get-together and some new folks decided to organise the monthly get-togethers that we know as “roundtables” today.

Our most important goal is to be a safe haven for non-binary folks and to organize events in a safe(r) environment.
horizontal organization all the way
Our collective is organized in a horizontal way: anyone can organise any event or activity they wish, as long as it is in line with our values (inclusivity, respect, open-mindedness and care). Furthermore, we firmly condemn all kinds of discrimination such as racism, fatphobia, psychophobia, or any generalized intolerance or hate towards others.
Any new event or collaboration is openly discussed within the collective. This ensures that everything we do is agreed upon by the majority of those who take part in the discussion. In case of disagreement, we try to talk through things and to reach a consensus if possible (depending on the context and the raised concerns). To ensure that anyone who wishes to can have a say in such decisions, these discussions often happen on Discord (in writing or via an online meeting), as this is the most accessible medium and avoids travel. However, we obviously also like to hold face-to-face discussions, as we feel it is important to see each other ‘in real life’ once in a while.
